Mesmers are the trademark class of the Guild Wars series and are one of the most unique, subtle and deadly classes in any game. Specializing in manipulating foes and countering their opponents strategies, a good mesmer will generate more hate in PvP chat than all other classes combined. Class Mechanic: Illusions
Guild Wars 2 mixes up many of these things. Outside of high-level group content, for example, healers aren't really used much - players take care of their own healing for the most part. Every class can capably self-heal, for starters, which is quite a departure considering that in some MMOs, some classes can't heal at all.

2. Aurene’s Wing (Short Bow) Aurene’s Wing is one of two legendary “bows” introduced in End of Dragons and has a prismatic design similar to the Elder Dragon it is named after. With its radiant glow and wisp-like feathers, this legendary short bow is befitting of a truly heroic short bow-wielder.
Necromancer is by far the most recommended class for new players. It has the highest baseline health, among the best passive defenses of any class, and a straightforward playstyle that is pretty easy to learn the basics with. Mesmer is a little more complex. It has less baseline health than necromancer and fewer passive defenses.
GW2 community and content creators are amazing and always ready to lend a hand. I wanted to put a small collection of useful sites for new and returning players to help them to complete the various objectives with ease, and improve the gaming experience.
40. Posted November 6, 2018. I think pretty much any class aside from the mesmer is good for a beginning player. This game is not really hard in terms of the beginning content. You will be able to go through most of the PvE content with ANY build on ANY class, with different levels of comfort.
A class based around channeling and communicating with Legendary figures like the Revenant is exceptionally Norn-y indeed. In a way, the Revenant could be seen as a Shaman/Skaldic figure. Link to comment
Posted August 19, 2022. I can speak to this as a new player. I started GW2 on July 11 but really got into it around the 16th or 17th of July. I hit level 80 on August 11 playing solo mostly. I hesitate to advise on a profession but would suggest some type of pet class for the first bit as pets take some heat off you.
RELATED: Guild Wars 2: Best Classes For Solo Players, Ranked. Most players simply need to find a dedicated group in the LFG running World Boss trains and then join the fray. Each boss gives out substantial rewards that can be traded or sold at merchants. It's also a good alternative for when you get tired of running meta events.
