I picked the TDI because, if you drive right, you can get 50mpg in the CITY. Add some mods to a TDI and it can be a monster, and still get great gas milage. I also think the 5-cylinder 2.5L is a good engine. I wonder if the 5cyl 2.5L might even be a little more efficient than the VR6 - It has 1 less cylinder and is a little smaller (2.5L, compared to 2.8L or 2.9L with the VR6) but produces almost as much horsepower & torque as the VR6 (if I recall).
