I am owner of a Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015 petrol engine. And seem to have two very big problems with the car who actually a software issue , not mechanical ones. First of all i bought the car from America, and I live in Europe. The first problem is with the check engine light which does not affect the car performance at all. Gearbox out to change it. 4900rpm is the rev limit for the TD5 suggest you will need to drop the main gearbox, either to replace the flex plate, torque converter, or the box itself. My tentative money would be on the flex plate, you can see this if you remove the cover panels as above. Good condition except the following. -HDC fault System unavailable. -transmission fault traction reduced. -system fault special programs unavailable. -special programs off. -suspension lowered. -amber suspension light solid on dash cluster. -flashing green low range on dash cluster. 2) Removing the transmission pan on these is a pain. It involves loosening motor mounts, jacking up on motor and removing exhaust. I have found on LR3 and RRS, it is easier to purchase a BMW X5 metal pan, gasket, bolts and filter and just breaking the old pan and filter off. The Mechatronics is bolted in with about 10 Torx bolts. Done 220,00 km. Goes to limp mode on highway on negotiating long inclines. Replaced fuel tank pump, air filter, cleaned transmission circular cable connector with electrical contact cleaner (this cured erratic transmission behavior, smooth operation returned) but limp mode still occurs. I hear a lot of groaning and hissing, but this is from the Title: LTB00986NAS1 - 'Transmission Fault' Mesisplayed On Instrument Cluster | TOPIx Author: jpatters Created Date: 8/19/2016 8:35:10 AM Hi I have a 2006 L322 4.2 Supercharged that has been pretty much fault free for the last 3.5 years of ownership. It has done 63 000 miles. About 2 weeks ago shortly after start up the dash display flashed up 'Transmission Fault' then something like 'limited gear selection' and 'Suspension Lowering', the warning dash light and traction control dash light then remained on. 3 posts · Joined 2011. #1 · Sep 15, 2011. Ok 95 Range Rover 4.0 P38 I turn the key, without starting, and immediately have a gearbox fault message. I have tried a new battery and different alternator, when I turn it over it drops to 11.3-11.5 and quickly ramps to 13.7-14.1 once it has started. Put it in drive and it shifts at 2200 RPMs in Worst case is the solenoid has failed, but given the experience with the D3/D4 would point to a bad connection somewhere. Could be a leaking mechatronic sleeve allowing fluid into the connector, a fluid change and check of the connector would be where I'd start. Then new solenoids and valve body rebuild. Range Rover Sport Land Rover Discovery 3-4 LR Jaguar and indeed anyone who uses this Transmission states it's "Filled for Life" Which i'm sure you all know is a load of crap, this transmission requires a service every 60k to maintain reliability and longevity. OIL.. There is always an argument regarding the fluid this transmission requires. vhL2.
